Food for the soulDear and I went around looking for good food recently. Beginning to love all the food reviews in the papers and looking for good food online.
Mad Jack
Website:
http://www.madjackcafe.com/Always pass by this place when I'm on 67 so I suggested making a trip there. Both of us had fish and chips because... the baked rice, which dear wants, was not available. Weird! He was very glad to see that huge portion of food which both of us didn't manage to finish. The fish was too oily but the fries are good. Oh yes! I love their free flow tartar sauce.
ignore that tissue! Island Creamery
Website:
http://www.hungrygowhere.com/island_creameryAs the name suggests, the ice cream are really creamy. They serve unique flavours like Teh Tarik and Nutella but but but... It was packed when we went last Sunday, so we bought two scoops of ice cream and sat outside. Especially since we were still full from that heavy lunch at Mad Jack. They are just less than 5 minutes walk away!

http://www.stomp.com.sg/stfoodiesclub/msyum/Saw this in this week Urban and off we went to Tiong Bahru to search for the place. It is NOT EASY TO FIND! As it is not a F&B outlet, there is no way you can enjoy the cakes in the shop. But the lady serving us was very friendly and directed us to the park just a road away. Nice park they have there. The cakes are great. Sweet without you getting sick of it. It is not just about cake. There are colourful macarons (the new 'in' food, I think), éclairs and they specialized in chocolate sculpturing. Hmm... I'm going to get one on my wedding.

couldn't resist taking a picture with that hot pink box though i was sick
