So here is my post on Phuket Day 1 and Day 2. We booked our flight directly from Tiger Airway at approximately SGD$300 for 2 and our rooms are booked through agoda (i love agoda!) at USD 216.96 for a 4 night stay. $300 bucks per person for air tickets and accomodation is pretty reasonable for me and for the room we had, it was super value for money!
DAY 1

bedroom . bathroom . toiletries .
television . balcony . my favourite dress-up table
Our Deluxe Room at
Avista which is as good as we see it online and their housekeeping is simply remarkable. Although the staff speak only minimal English, we didn't have too much of a problem communicating

bazaar opposite Jungceylon . wet market . wet market .
. Mr Macdonald outside Jungceylon .
Took the hotel free shuttle bus to Patong and explored the place quite aimlessly.

lunch at Fuji Restaurant - bad bad food and the most expensive meal we had in Phuket

. tour package stall . fruit stall . mobile food stall .

. along Patong Beach .
Walked towards the beach which was pretty crowded with alot alot alot of sun bed. Hurt my foot when I knocked into a screw protruding out of nowhere along the road side!!! Didn't think much of it until blood began to stream down and my tiny plaster became useless. But Phuket has lots of pharmacy and there was one just across the street. With blood streaming down, I hobbled over with boyfriend to get bigger plaster and antiseptic cream. And for the next week, I was limping because I didn't dare to step on my wound and I became especially careful when walking in Phuket.

Chocolate fondue at Swensens (Jungceylon)
Mood not affected at all and continue exploring part of Patong. But the freaking hot weather chased us back to Jungceylon where we shopped at Robinson (and got nothing) and CARREFOUR! Dragged our 6 litre mineral water to Swensens with us to enjoy some ice cream =)

tuk-tuk back to hotel =)
Public transport in Phuket is horrid and the only way from Patong back to Kata, where Avista is located, we had to take taxi or tuk-tuk. Both are priced at 400Baht and I decided to take tuk-tuk because it seems fun but boyfriend says India's is much more exciting.

massage and tea at Mook Massager
Took a short rest back at hotel and went to their game room to have a game of pool. Read about Mook Massager because leaving for Phuket so decided to give it a try. Pricing is similar to those massage parlour in Kata but the ambience is superb and they served tea at the end of our massage.

the famous banana chocolate pancake!

. lychee drink . chicken sateh . pad thai .
. tom yam goong . fried rice .
Didn't know what to have for dinner so we followed our instincts and went into this "Outdoor Restaurant" which is actually pretty empty - only a couple of ang mohs. Nothing worth recommending here.

good night note for us =)
DAY 2

us up bright and early!
Waited for our transfer to Ao Po Pier for some island-hopping! But the driver probably got very lost looking for everyone, we were very very late and he went round and round Patong looking for just one hotel. The tour package we took was 900Baht per person from the stall as seen in Day 1 (opposite Jungceylon).

on our so-called luxury boat
The boat must have met its maximum capacity and those so-called high class people are more kiasu than me (a true Singaporean). Being the last to board the boat, we "suffered" under the sun with no choice. But the view we had were great =)

first stop: Panak Island via canoe
Two to a canoe with a guide to bring us into the mangrove area. From outside, it seems like a complete hill but inside, it's "hollow. Pretty cool!

canoe on our own

Hong Island

James Bond Island
We only managed to visit three islands because they were really really far away. The first two islands were pretty good but the oh-so-famous James Bond Island is boorrring! The bat cave is super smelly but people just keep going in.

fairly good view

awesome sunset at Kata Beach
Freshen up at our hotel and went for a walk along Kata Beach which is complete different from Patong Beach. It can totally bring you to a state of being serene. Explored Kata area before heading back for dinner at a food centre near our hotel.

. papaya salad . tom yam goong .
. pineapple fried rice . i-don't-know-the-name .
Would recommend having meals at this place. Quite reasonably priced and the food are good. I found this place online and the person called it "Kata Food Centre" but the sign board says "FAST FOOD". Confusing. But we confirmed its location as it is the only eatery at the north end of Club Med and it is pretty near our hotel. There are 6 different stall owners but the food are pretty much the same.
